Tagwirei, 9 others nominated for Senate

President Emmerson Mnangagwa has nominated businessman, Kudakwashe Tagwirei, and nine others to Senate in line with the latest amendment to the constitution

The announcement was made by Speaker of Parliament, Jacob Mudenda, in the National Assembly where he said, the President had considered the experience of the 10

“pursuant to Section 120 (1) (e) of the Constitution of Zimbabwe, as amended, which provides for the appointment of ten senators by His Excellency the President, chosen for their professional skills and other competencies, after consultation with the National Assembly, I have to inform the House that His Excellency the President is desirous of appointing the following as senators,” 

 1. Jabulani Sibanda
2. Mary Mliswa
3. Nokuthula Matsikenyere
4. Kudakwashe Tagwirei
5. Godwills Masimirembwa
6. Lucy Chitaga
7. Gen. Gibson Mashingaidze
8. Makhosini Hlongwane
9. Brilliant Dube and
10. Iren Mutumbwa.

Dube was former opposition leader, Nelson Chamisa’s chief of staff in 2018, was at the heart of the election machine.

Recently she joined the newly constituted Constitution Defenders Forum led by Tendai Biti
