Zimbabwean national football team coach Michael Nees will be hoping to breeze through Kenya at Peter Mokoba Stadium in Polokwane, South Africa, on Friday next week to secure qualification for the African Cup of Nations (Afcon) on Morocco next year.
Nees named his squad today for the qualifiers against Kenya and Morocco.
The 2025 Afcon is scheduled to begin on 21 December 2025, culminating into a final on 18 January 2026.
Nees named his squad for the match against Kenya, which lies four points below Zimbabwe on the four-team table.
Cameroon sits on top with 10 points, while Kenya has four and Namibia zero. Zimbabwe has eight points, all from four games.
If Zimbabwe beat Kenya, they qualify ahead of its last match against Cameroon in Yaounde.
Nees found the Warriors reeling from mediocrity, with two draws in Afcon, and struggling in the World Cup qualifiers, but has so far done a great job to rescue and rejuvenate the team; lift their spirits and clock some wins as he moves closer to qualification.
