Dubbed as “Africa’s most exciting and adventurous music festival’, the 10th edition of the Victoria Falls Carnival is expected to add excitement to what may already have been an interesting month in post-Cvoid-19 era as top performing artists from South Africa and Zimbabwe share the stage.

Zimbabwe Tourism Authority Head Corporate Affairs, Godfrey “Chief” Koti confirmed that hotels and other lodgings were now fully booked.

“We are so happy to have the carnival there and change of date to May instead of December to fill gaps of losses caused by Covid-19 pandemic.

“This is working in line with the national tourism and recovery growth strategy where we want to promote MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferencing and Exhibitions). We have the MeetInZim campaign which is pretty a MICE promoting platform  this time it is complementing our ZimBho campaign, where we are looking at promoting domestic tourism encouraging Zimbabweans to travel as much as they can and explore the country either by road or air,” Koti said.

“VisitZim campaign we’re targeting international visitors and it is critical in promoting inbound tourists. The carnival is important since it plays the role of bringing regional visitors from Botswana, Angola, Namibia, Zambia and South Africa.”

Organisers have put together an array of performers ranging from DJ Maphorisa, Kabsa De Small, Sha Sha to Master KG as headlining act for the three day feast of music, dance and culture.

Indeed, these are some of the heavy hitters of Amapiano and those who will attend will have a whale of a time.

The festival begins on Friday 29 April 2022 with the Grand Opening night featuring performances by Amapiano Kings and Queen – DJ Maphorisa, Kabza De Small and Sha Sha.

It will be a night of the best in live Afro beats and Amapiano setting the stage for a carnival spirit.
