ZIMBABWE’S leading investigative journalism and breaking news publication, The NewsHawks, has been honoured by the Zimbabwe Institute for Strategic Thinking (Zist), winning the Outstanding Performance in Print Digital Media Award at the inaugural awards and exhibition ceremony held in Harare.

The NewsHawks won the prestigious award at an event officiated by deputy minister of Tourism, Hospitality and Climate Change, Barbara Rwodzi, with captains of industry in attendance.
Other winners include: the Standards Association of Zimbabwe (SAZ), which won the Promoting Business Excellence Award and Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority (Zera), which won the Regulator of the Year Award.
Nyaradzo Group was awarded the Dynamic Corporate of the Year and Zimpapers Television Network (ZTN) won the Electronic Media Award, among other recipients. The Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA) scooped the Destination Tourism Entity of the Year Award.
Former (SAZ) director Eve Gadzikwa won the Female Business Leader Award, while Transport and Infrastructural Development minister Felix Mhona and Agriculture and Mechanisation minister Anxious Masuka were also honoured with the Strategy Innovation and Leadership Excellence, and Innovation and Strategy awards, respectively.
The awards convener, ZIST, said the inaugural awards are meant to celebrate innovative thinkers in various sectors of society.
“This initiative was driven by strategy drawn from both public and private sectors. This was meant to recognise achievements that have been done, mainly by the new markets and leaders that are excelling in various categories.
“So basically, this is also a business strategy. We are planning on encouraging corporate and public sector. Our main thrust is the development strategy that will build esteem in both private and public sectors,” said Tinashe Muzamhindo, ZIST founder.
Mashwede Holdings, who won the Excellence in Community Empowerment Award, said the company was happy to be honoured by ZIST.
