Stakeholders in Zimbabwe’s fight against corruption, among them the National Prosecuting Authority, Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission and Transparency International Zimbabwe, this week jointly commemorated the Africa Anti-Corruption Day with a call for government to put in place whistle-blower protection mechanisms.

Although Cabinet adopted the Principles for Witness and Whistle-blower protection in 2022, Zimbabwe still does not have effective whistle-blower protection laws.

The march for African Anti-Corruption Day is underway from ZACC offices to Africa Unity Square to raise awareness. This year’s theme: “Effective Whistleblowers Protection Mechanism: A Critical Tool in the Fight Against Corruption.”
