The glitter has settled. The winner has been crowned. And the chaos caused by a headman from Shurugwi has already become late-night meme material.

But ask anyone who was actually inside the Hippodrome over the weekend, and they’ll tell you a different story. Not about the woman who won the title—but about the woman who won the room.

Her name? Luminista Jemwa. Just Lumi to those who love her.

And darling, she was unmissable.

The Best Dressed Woman in the Building

While the runway models competed for sashes and scholarships, Lumi was competing against no one—and still came out on top. Fashionistas couldn’t stop whispering. Cameras couldn’t stop finding her.

And by the time the night ended, one thing was clear: she wasn’t vying for any crown, but she was absolutely the toast of the night.

The weapon of choice? A breathtaking Raengah all-red dress that hugged every curve like it was painted on. Long. Bold. Unforgettable.

And the hair? Pure architecture.

That masterpiece was the work of Kelvin Takudzwa—a Zimbabwean celebrity hairstylist whose hands have touched the crown of South Africa’s own Grammy-winning superstar, Tyla. Yes, that Tyla. The one who flew Kelvin all the way to Japan just to get her hair right.

On Saturday night, Kelvin was in Harare, making sure Lumi looked every bit the part. And she did. A million bucks? Underselling it.

“Why Am I Single?”

Looking around at the captains of industry and deep-pocketed suitors in the room, she laughed:

“To my surprise . . . where are the men who are buying G Wagons for the ladies? Why am I single?”

The crowd chuckled. But behind the joke was a woman who clearly needs no wagon—because she built her own carriage.

The Crown That Went Elsewhere

Of course, the official winner of the night was Roseanna Hall, who walked away with the Miss Universe Zimbabwe title. But her moment of glory was… shall we say, interrupted.

Enter Temba Mliswa, a headman from Shurugwi, who stormed the stage as Roseanna took her victory stride. The bizarre climax?
He allegedly tipped her with a few dollars right there on stage—leaving the audience equal parts bemused and bewildered.

It was strange. It was uncomfortable. And it completely spoiled what should have been a pure coronation.

The Real Winner

But back to Lumi.

In a night of stolen moments and strange interruptions, one truth remained: you don’t need a sash to own a room. You don’t need a title to be unforgettable.

Luminista Jemwa walked into the Hippodrome as a spectator. She left as the woman everyone was still talking about.

And really—isn’t that its own kind of crown?
