The venue could not contain the hundreds of people that wanted to have a glimpse of the prophet and have their hands laid on them.
Security at the venue then unleashed tearsmoke to disperse hundreds that wanted to get a glimpse of the cleric.
Onlookers said no one was violent but people wanted to see activities inside the venue.
“The people were never violent, they just wanted to see the man of God and have their hands laid on, but to our surprise the guards decided to throw tear smoke on believers,” an onlooker said.
No injuries were reported.
“These security guards at Alice Place were just overzealous, that was uncalled for because there was no violence at all,”
After the skirmishes Prophet T Freddy was seen walking down the stage with a wet towel as he was too affected by the tear smoke. He managed to speak with those affected by the tear smoke.
“I think the Security were unreasonable or something because believers were non violent or showing any signs of violence, they just wanted to get inside and follow proceedures and in all that our internal security were handling the crowds professionally. We thought it was good that way. Our internal security did not call for additional guards because they were managing the crowd well,” said Freddy.

He said despite the skimishes the revival was massive with the attendance being massive.
“I want to thank Gweru people for their love. They showed their zeal to have the word of God. The miracles and testimonies were there to see. We will come back to them,” he added.
