President Emmerson Mnangagwa has visited the bereaved family of the late War Veterans ministry permanent secretary Clive Mphambela, a banker, economist and journalist, who died in a road accident in Chivhu on 25 July.
Mnangagwa narrated to mourners Mphambela’s career history, profile and work ethic, saying he is a “hero in his own right”.
He said he excelled in tasks assigned to him, hence he promoted him from being Ministry of Finance director of communications to permanent secretary.
Mphambela, who hailed from Silobela in Midlands province, was a also good sportsman, particularly in chess where he played and led in local and international competitions.
