Police in Beitbridge have arrested a smuggler Asha Muchenje for unlawful possession of unregistered medicines.
The suspect, who is a truck driver, was intercepted at the Beitbridge Border Post on Sunday. Detectives searched the vehicle and recovered 19 boxes, each containing 50 bottles of 100ml Broncleer cough syrup and three boxes, each containing 30 bottles of 100ml Astra-pain cough syrup, which were stashed behind the driver’s seat.
Yesterday, detectives in Harare arrested Claris Matorerwei (53) and Admore Gaadza (53) for unlawful possession of unregistered medicines.
Police recovered 12 boxes, each containing 30 x 100ml bottles of Astra pain, from the suspects’ Toyota Hilux vehicle along Dagenham Road, Southerton.
On the same date, detectives arrested Munyaradzi Korovedzai (46) for the same offense along Dagenham Road, Southerton.
Police recovered 20 boxes, each containing 50 x 100ml bottles of Broncleer Cough Syrup, from the suspect’s Toyota Corolla vehicle.
