A Harare man, Benedict Reuben, has been arrested for murder following a joke on his sexuality.
Police released a statement this evening saying they arrested the murder suspect on 6 January 2025.
It is the police’s case that Reuben hit the victim, Maxwell Mahanzu (32) with a stone after the victim mocked him, claiming that he was a gay since he was wearing earrings.
The incident happened at Boka Bus terminus along Harare Masvingo Road and the victim died on the spot.
