The suspect in the murder of Darmafalls man, Blessed Believe Juruvenge has been apprehended by the police and there is a sigh of relief by the family.
Constable Prince Ndavambi who has been on the run since the unfortunate demise of Juruvenge appeared before Magistrate Ruth Moyo, where the State consented to his release on US$400 bail.
He is scheduled to return to court on July 2, pending the finalisation of investigations.
There is a sigh of relief from the family.
Melissa Manyepa, appreciated the police’s efforts saying it’s a positive step that will help the family plan on burial arrangements, a month after Juruvenge’s death.
“I got a call from Ruwa Police Station who started by asking if I had managed to go to the hospital for a check up after I was beaten by Ndavambi and I said I had not yet gotten the time and the money to go to hospital. They then asked me to go saying: “The accused in your brother’s murder has been apprehended,” she said.
“I was relieved by the news and started preparing to get the medical report requested by the police,” she added.
Although she did not manage to get the medical report, Manyepa says the family might start deliberating soon after the results of the second post morterm are released.
“Family members that dispersed keep calling me to ask about the programme but we have not had a chance to sit and plan because there are no post morterm results yet. But they are happy that the suspect has been apprehended,”
“We are still waiting for the post morterm report so that we plan the burial programme, but as it stands we are still waiting,” she said.
